Obituary for Patrick Bogert
Patrick T. Bogert, 58, of Bogert Lane, Lake Katrine, passed away while in the comforting presence of his family on Friday, March 31st, 2017 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Pat was born in Kingston, NY on August 13th, 1958, a son of the late Ralph B. and Ann (Palisi) Bogert.
A veteran of the U.S. Army he was stationed at Fort Bragg as a cook.
Pat was a graduate of Saugerties High School (1976) and The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park. He retired as a professional chef with the NYS Dept. of Corrections at Eastern Correctional Facility, Napanoch. He was also a chef at The Bowery Dugout Seafood Restaurant & Steakhouse, Kingston. Pat enjoyed fishing, and was an avid Mets and Giants fan.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kathleen S. (Dingman) Bogert, his children, Patrick (Olivia), Timothy, Kayleigh, Brandon, and Collin, a grandson, Gavin and his mother Molly, five brothers, Steven (Ann), twin brother Christopher, Daniel, Matthew (Crista) and Roger (Miki) Bogert, and one brother-in-law, Joseph (Elaine) Dingman. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, on Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral procession will form from the funeral home at 10:00 am Thursday, thence to St. Mary's Church, where The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Military honors by Joyce-Schirick VFW Post 1386 Honor Guard and Prayers of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
